Welcome evening

With a warm welcome to both our returning members, and plenty of new faces, this meeting kicked of the season with a series of delightful photo presentations from several of our members.

Andrew took us around Portsmouth historic docks, and displayed his eclectic collection of 'mix and match' shots. Tony took us to Aberystwyth and shared his passion for trains with some shots of different steam trains. Sue showed us a few beautiful landscapes and cloudscapes, and Helen took us on a quest to find zebras in the Namibian desert.

After a short break and some tea and biscuits, Vicky took us back to our spring season with her photos from our field trip to Westdean Gardens, and Bob showed us what he captures as the official photographer for the local bowls club, with a couple of his famous foxes thrown in for good measure. To round up the evening, Martin shared many things he had seen in his garden over the summer, including some fabulous closeups of the 'super blue moon', and Pony displayed some of his sports photos, and shared some tips on how to get the best out of them for competitions.I hope you will all agree that the presentations demonstrated the huge range of photographic styles we have represented in our club, and have inspired you to go out and photographe the things you love!  We are all looking forward to seeing our potential new members back at our next evening, for three fascinating in-depth talks from our members on their different photography styles and subjects.
